Fred Zuck died on March 4, his 74th birthday, of complications from surgery. He was born and raised in Anderson, IN, was a proud graduate of Wabash College and a skilled CPA. For all his achievements, Fred’s greatest accomplishment was the positive effect he had on others. His wit, humor, passion for learning, enthusiasm for new experiences and his good nature enriched the lives of his friends and relatives. He was courageously tenacious about conquering every challenge he faced. He will be sorely missed, but the memories of his presence, and that unique smile, will forever linger in the memories of all who knew him. His life left the world a better place.
Fred is survived by his devoted wife Sue (Indianapolis) and loving sister Michele (Anderson) along with numerous dear relatives including his in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins (IN, WI, CA, VA) and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations: Indiana Repertory Theatre, Nature Conservancy of Indiana, and Wabash College Alumni Fund.

Michele, from everything I heard from Dad I’m certain he had a powerful and uplifting effect on all he met. I know you will miss him, but you will always have the love and memories in your heart. Blessings to you and the rest of his family.

I was so very sad to hear of Fred’s death having just sent him a happy birthday message hours before. Fred’s humor, kindness and love of life shaped who I am today in so many ways. I am very sad I will not see Fred’s warm smile again, but I will be thinking fondly of the many wonderful memories we shared when I was a child. Oh, how I loved Fred! I send my deepest sympathies to his surviving family, who I know will miss him so dearly.

So sorry to hear this. Fred was my good buddy at Wabash and roomie at IU when we were in grad school later. What a kind and gentle person he was. Last year I reconnected with him our 50th Wabash Reunion. I hadn’t seen him in 50 years, but he had that same twinkle in his eye, the same smile, I knew all those years ago. He was a dear soul.
